Unschooling While Working From Home

We love living and learning everyday as a Family!

To support our close-knit lifestyle we work from home on our various entrepreneurial ventures.

This definitely means time management is a must but since we don't run well on traditional schedules we also need to be outside the box thinkers to manage all our tasks in a day. Daily we must care for our horse and high energy dog, our 2 large vegetable gardens, prepare and cook all our food and keep the home functioning.

On top of that we run our Freeschoolin' Facebook Page, Website, Blog and The Freeschoolin' Homestead Youtube Channel. Jaze/Freeschoolin' Daddy, is a professional wrestler, a contract labourer, an editor/publisher and The Best Unschooling Dad Ever!

I do artwork commissions, illustrating, writing, crafting and working on many more projects for future release.

So how do we get it all done? Well, for one thing, we don't. We make lists but we accept that they are guidelines and flow with life when the unexpected happens. Which it does. Often! Priorities Help. The things that cannot wait come first. Every day we realistically assess and plan to accomplish what cannot be left until tomorrow. This ensures that deadlines are met but that we do not become list mongers following every item until we have no time left for spontaneous fun. Letting Go. A clean house is so nice. But there's only so much time in a day. We don't live in filth but we had company over yesterday and the floors were not swept and visibly dirty. I'm happy to report the visit was not affected negatively in any way! Creative Multitasking. I may not sit down to watch a movie but since our apartment is so cozy ( small ) I can clean up the kitchen while it's on. Or do the laundry while catching up on my favorite Youtubers. I use my sleepless nights to upload videos, write, illustrate and craft. Bath time is also waterplay adventure time for Hope and we pack lunches for outings and meet-ups. Team Work.

There's no way we could manage our lives with out working together, each within our level of expertise. Freeschoolin' Daddy and Hope will do some gardening while I perform damage control on the house, together we make hauling hay up to the barn go much faster and to make the most of town trips, Hope and Jaze will hit up the library while I get some groceries for the family. Balance isn't easy to achieve and by no means have we, but we do function well together and thrive as an Unschooling/ Freeschoolin' family working from home.
