📚 Our New Children's Book and Update

Our life as we know it is over. We discovered that our Landlord of more than 10 years is selling the house. Our apartment has been neglected severely, despite our repair requests over the years. While we paid rent, he did not maintain our home.

Our family is on a VERY low, fixed income and we've survived all this time by growing our own food and being frugal in a tiny space. It's been a simple, but rewarding life.

Now, rent prices are double what we can afford. Traditional work is not available to us due to health reasons. Food prices are becoming alarming. We are being backed into a corner and we are going to need help to manage.

It has not been all doom and gloom. The procedure for our legal eviction (because we are good paying tenants) is long and the system is backed up. Thankfully each step has taken as long as possible and we've been gifted time. We've had a lot of lovely moments together learning to find joy throughout this stressful journey. Hope has finally read half of her first graphic novel. She is completely self taught and has discovered the joy of reading at her own pace. It's amazing to watch the world unfold before her eyes now that she can read.

Time is running out.

Our dream is to find land and go off grid, something we've always been planning for, and frankly the only option our family can afford for the foreseeable future.

We have been working hard, readying ourselves for the change that is going to have to happen for our family, all the while managing our health issues.
