Freeschoolin': Meet Ups!

Want to know how we plan successful homeschool meetups?

Our family has been active in our Un/Homeschool Club for 6 years now and I thought we'd share some tips and tricks we've learned along the way to make creating Meeting Ups with our community successful. Plan In Advance The more notice, the better, For an event that needs a lot of people, and/or that has fees, we do at least 2 months of advertising prior to our event.

Watch the Weather Outdoor Events in spring and fall can be tricky as there is more precipitation and unpredictable weather. We always give a raindate and be prepared to cancel that too; it happens. We don't get discouraged! Open Events We make events like Park adventures, Indoor Playplaces or a Farm day at our residence where there is no required attendance. If no one shows up, no one is hurt and we still had a great time.

Remember, we're Homeschoolers Many families chose the home education lifestyle because of it's ease to match the flow of the family. This means that sometimes we may plan to get to an event with great intentions, but come the day of, it just doesn't work for us anymore. As the Event planner, this can be disappointing so we keep the above in mind and don't take low attendance personally.

No matter how intricate your planning, sometimes no shows happen. We prepare for the worst and expect the best, and so far, it has served us well through learning the ropes of Meet Ups as a family that deals with extreme social anxiety. If we can do it, we know you can too! Our Unschooled Week

Vlogging Return I have been patiently ( ok not really, I've been itching to get back ) waiting for Freeschoolin' Daddy's help with their techy skills to find a replacement video editor that will both work on our system and that is simple enough for me to use.
