Freeschoolin' Sick & FREE Colouring Page!
Life doesn't stop when we are sick, nor does Freeschoolin'!
I was quite ill a few times this week due to Energy Sickness, something common in Empaths such as myself. Hope (7) and Freeschoolin' Daddy are also very energy sensitive, but thankfully they were not afflicted with what I was processing. Our laptop (containing almost ALL my pics and video) and our TV died this week, so it's been pretty rough for a number of reasons, yet it hasn't gotten us down! We did a lot of organizing and purging which triggered Hope to decorate and arrange things in her own way; something she loves to do.
Hope caught and played with snails, helped Daddy water and feed our horse and played pretend in the fields.

With energy being so intense this last week or so, Hope has had many fully immersed waterplay sessions a day. Sometimes she takes animals, sometimes cups and spray bottles, sometimes it's baking soda and salt with spoons and containers. It's so comforting to know she is already establishing self care and energy coping skills for herself.
We got into board games, colouring, drawing on the chalk board, LOTS of roleplay, cutting paper and cardboard and we all pulled together to clean the house together in between times I wasn't too unwell. Hope was very attentive while I was sick, fetching me drinks and other things I needed when Daddy was not readily available. She was not worried, but clearly invested in my healing. The feature of our week, and not just because we have actual pictures, was the pleasure of visits from Hope's Paternal Grandparents who live hours away. I was only able to capture the first, as I was too ill to get out of bed during their second.
Copious amounts of rain and my illness kept us inside more often this week so we enjoyed some quality screen-time. We watched the original Poltergeist together (Hope loved it!), the 1980's Strawberry Shortcake cartoon, Teen Titans Go, a documentary called Given (Netflix) and lots of Sponge Bob. Hope played Animal Jam, Minecraft and Spore. So, even during a week where we are seriously limited, the Freeschoolin' lifestyle invokes a love of life learning. Every day. In every moment.
P.S. I did a little illustrating for a new book series I'm creating, "Lil' Empath". This illustration was inspired by Hope attending me this week while I was ill. Thought I'd share this with you and your family to have fun with.
