đInterview With An Unschooler
What Does An Unschooler Think About Unschooling?
Hope wanted me to ask her some questions and was delighted when I suggested an interview!
10 Questions with Hope Elizabeth Hart, 10
1. What is your favorite thing about Unschooling and why?
Being free and I don't think I have to answer why I like being free.
2. Do you wish you could go to school? Why or why not?
No, because I'm not free in school.
3. What is your least favorite thing about Unschooling and why?
*thinks a while* I was going to say Math like I've heard other kids say, but I like math. I don't have anything I don't like about Unschooling!
4. What do you wish you could do more of? Crafting and Sculpting.
5. What do you wish you could do less of? Reverse Cycling so I can be up with my family and the sun.
6. What do you wish people knew about Unschooling?
That you don't need workbooks and schedules to learn.
7. What are your plans for the future?
Travel to see animals, become a Pet Groomer, Engineer and more. I already am an artist.
8. What is your favorite "subject"?
The "art" of cooking, music, crafting, drawing, gardening and more.
9. What is your least favorite "subject"? None. I can't think of any.
10. How long do you want to Unschool? As long as I'm alive and after. It was fun to hear these authentic answers from Hope and reassured Jaze and I that we are on the exact path that she needs to be on. I'd highly recommend asking these questions of your own Unschoolers, and feel free to share their answers! (With consent of course.)
THIS WEEK
With the lockdown in our province of Ontario, (Canada) we've just let ourselves do what feels right to keep joy in our days. It's meant staying home for weeks, long talks, games together and making nourishing food that we love. We've let go of what life is supposed to look like because no time has been like this before. Sometimes, in order to go faster we need to slow down. So we embrace this slow down period knowing we'll be ready to take off like never before, into our future, into our dreams. We've not been out to shop but to grab some horse feed for our rescue, River thanks to home delivery. Our days are spent planning for our future chickens and 2021 garden, brainstorming how to build community in these times and how to keep joy in our lives no matter what is going on in the world. Hope's passion for drawing has only grown and it's wonderful to see how she progresses each time she shows us a drawing. (We are lucky and get to see every single one. I only share some of them.) Jaze and I have been working on the coming book, "The 1 Rule of Freeschoolin' Is, There Are NO Rules To Freeschoolin'", and are really excited about seeing if we can meet our deadline. It's not helped publishing these dates publicly so we're keeping our goals internal (though we so want to share) and can't wait to bring you in on what's being going on as soon as possible! Stay Tuned!
