đ„ł Freeschoolin' the New Year đ
Another Year.
But not like any other year.
Last year we had illusions of returning to "normal" at some point. This year many understand things will never be the same. CHANGE CAN BE GOOD.
Though we must let go of things we had before, there is much to be grateful for, and more still to create. Adapting to change is not only a survival skill, it's a skill needed for thriving. To take what is less than desirable and make it into something beloved can mean that we are no longer beholden to situations that might otherwise destabilize us and our lives. We can take the time to grieve what we don't have access to anymore. And then we can build something new. A world where we are not terrified of everything around us and loosing it all.
A life lived fully empowered, free and healthy.
An evolutionary learning experience for everyone.
Whether your goals are to build a food garden for your family this year, learn how to crochet, gain outdoor survival skills or become a home chef, have fun and know you are changing the world.
Everything is different now. It's ok for us to be different. In fact, we need to be.
THIS PAST 2 WEEKS
I've been working on a project, and so with New Years, I didn't have time to blog last week. I love that I can just let it go when I need to and catch up when I'm ready. For our New Years celebration, we had some organic snacks, played some games and watched the Ball drop in New York via live feed. Since then Hope has been getting outside to build forts (check our instagram for the videos!) in the snow, playing make believe inside and outside, trying out new video games like Wolf Quest and diving deep into using her new Ohuhu Markers she got for Winter Solstice. She's been helping with chores like feeding the horse and picking up her playroom, as well as making her own food when she feels like it. (Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Boiled Eggs, Coffee Flavored Raw Milk, all organic) Our grocery supply was very well topped up before the holidays so we only have had to go out once in the last few weeks leaving us to enjoy life without retail for a long stretch. When we did have to go out, Hope and I bundled up and stayed in the car to draw together while Jaze acquired what we needed in the stores. I was stricken with a migraine ( it happens as a sensitive/empath ) so Hope and I hung out watching movies, and when was feeling better, we shared breakfast in bed together. As I mentioned before, I was also working on a project for a conference I'm speaking at this year which ended up producing a boffer ( combat-safe weapon for LARP ) dagger for Hope. She is very pleased with how light and easy it is to wield and we look forward using it at future LARP events. Jaze and Hope also helped me figure out how to play Pokemon with them so we could enjoy battling and capturing Pokemon as a family.
