🎓No Curriculum? But How Will They Learn...

No Curriculum Blog Article Title Page

Humans Are Innately Curious

This isn't a theory. Human curiosity drives our species to the places it has adventured thus far and where we will advance in the future. It's unstoppable, unable to be quenched; an unending yearning to know what's next. We are born and shortly after, we quest for the next stage in our development, the next discovery of our world. With just examples around to inspire us, we learn to talk, to play, to walk.

What if this natural learning ability extends to everything? School taught us that real learning only happens in a classroom but human history tells otherwise; we are born to learn. School has only existed for a short period of time in comparison to how people have learned over the ages and it definitely has not been proven to be the best option for a rich and well rounded education.

Unschooling/Freeschoolin' offers learning principles instead of curriculum turning all of life into school, no classroom necessary. 🌟Everything is learning. 🌟We are naturally curious. 🌟Parents are facilitators. 🌟Adventure is out there.

We're not the authority on Unschooling. We just share what we've learned and how it works for our family!

This Past 2 Weeks Sometimes blogging isn't in the cards so I just roll with it and catch up when time allows. After Hope's birthday I felt the need to slow down even more than I already have this year and just live this incredible life we have.

Hope has thoroughly enjoyed her new bike she got for her birthday and rides it often. The animals on the homestead, both domestic and wild, have been coming to life for us to discover. Two nests of baby robins fell and we attempted to keep them safe for their Momma to feed them while they grew. Only 3 out of the 8 survived but some snakes thrived; so goes the circle of life. The frogs and fish are plentiful in our pond, much to the delight of our resident Canadian Goose family. Every year they roost here, and every year we are virtually tick free, so we are very grateful. If they would only stop roosting on our no till, covered crop beds...lol. We cooked out, camped out and of course played out thanks to the beautiful weather we've had and even got our first few trips to our favourite beach! There was even time for a wonderful campsite date for Jaze and I due to Hope's reverse cycling, so we took advantage and had an amazing time together. There was lots to reflect on, much to heal from the past and so much joy to be had in these past weeks and I am excited to continue sharing our life learning/Freeschoolin' lives with the community.
