🌠Our Freeschoolin' Universe

When you don't have to spend your days in a classroom, life becomes your school! As an unschooling/Freeschoolin' family, we follow our interests and passions instead of curriculum. This past week we all became obsessed with Steven Universe. It's an all inclusive, imaginative, love-focused animated show with singing throughout. (And he doesn't go to school!) We put down Superbed and binge watched together, loving every second.

But what did we learn about? Respectful Relationships, Emotional Regulation, Boundaries, Bonding, Time Management, Community, Maturity, Technology, Creative Thinking, Story Telling, Music, Art, Animation, Science Fiction, Resilience, Strength, Introspection, So Much More... Our Week The warm weather made for lovely time at our barn. We rescued an amazing horse named River in 2011 from a meat truck fate and have cared for him ever since. He'll be 24 in April but still is as spry as a colt. Follow our journey with him at Hartland Ranch. There was singing, illustrating, Minecraft, roleplaying, puzzles, reading, addition and waterplay. Hope also tried out some more snow shoeing, we got our first ever low waste/natural tooth care kit from Well.ca and of course had fun spending time and caring for the horses at Earth Valley Organics.
