NO Your Limits

No Your Limits Blog Article Title Page

The last 2 weeks were hard.

It can be difficult to go through things and share with others. Sometimes the stress and sadness is all we have the strength to face at the time. We are a family of energy sensitives so we are affected by many things that others don't even notice. Holidays are very draining, even if we don't celebrate them, because we can feel the world around us celebrating. (Which can bring a lot of negative energy believe it or not.) If friends or family go through emotional or physical struggles, the closer we are, the more we feel their plight. If something tragic is going on with the world, our senses are intrinsically tuned in. As well, Jaze and I are in healing from our difficult childhood and other traumatic experiences such as the tragic loss of our son less than a year ago. With all we carry along with us in this life, we have to be VERY responsible about our boundaries or we'll get overwhelmed and no longer be able to function properly. Taking on new jobs and new relationships of any kind could bring potential unbalance without thorough consideration of what we already have on our plate and the kind of energy new experiences and people will bring to our lives. And even with all that consideration, we still fumble. The Last 2 Weeks The full moon hit us powerfully and brought about lots of working out old patterns and instilling new, healthy ones. A homeschool conference I was a part of turned out to be extremely draining in ways I'd never anticipated, through no fault of the organizers. (Get your lifetime pass here for my and other session on this wonderful panel of Canadian homeschoolers. Affiliate Link.) I am deeply grieving the loss of my adult son and know this will only be more intense as the days move towards the date marking him gone a full year. (May 17.) The stress I was under became so great that I ended up with a cold sore ( so rare ) that lasted for a week and then an optic migraine (I lose sight as well) just this past weekend. My body is telling me to slow down and live intentionally. So I'm listening. We put up Superbed to get close and enjoy our family. We watched movies together and played silly games. Our time spent with the horses at Earth Valley Organics was, as always, very healing. There were Daddy & Daughter minecraft sessions, book read alouds, Hope did a lot of drawing and colouring and the snuggles were abound. Our family raised money to give out gift cards at a dinner for the less fortunate with a group we volunteer regularly with. Hope purged some of her stuffies to give away as well. There were also tears, a lot of them. Mistakes were made. We came together as a family after each one. It's impossible to show you the entire picture of our lives so you can SEE that we're not missing the chaos and challenges everyone else faces with their own families. We absolutely are scaling mountains like so many others.

Through mistakes, not only am I getting to know my limits, I NO my limits. I say NO if I'm not comfortable and worry about how it appears to others later, if at all. NO decision making out of fear or pressure. Without my boundaries being fully respected, the answer is NO. Learning how to NO my limits keeps my boundaries in full power and shares a path for others to follow if they wish the same freedom. Thank you for being on this journey with us! We're not going anywhere so keep stay tuned for more from your friendly neighbourhood Freeschoolin' Family!
