Freeschoolin' Speaks & Shares A Week In The Life
EXCITING NEWS!
In June of last year, I was asked to do some sessions for the 2020 Canadian Online Homeschool Conference and though I was fresh from grieving the loss of my dear son Skylar, I was honoured by the invitation and felt drawn to participate.
Have you ever gone to a homeschool convention? Homeschool conventions are one of the best places to get connected, learn more about homeschooling, and see tons of homeschool resources all in one spot. But what if the nearest convention is several hours drive away? And by the time you’ve paid for accommodations, the cost of the conference, and the drive to-and-from.. Well it can be more than many of us can afford. And what do you do with your kids? Many conferences don’t let you take your children with you.
That’s one of the many reasons the Canadian Online Homeschool Conference exists. You get all the benefits of a homeschool conference -- without having to leave home, arrange for childcare, and pay for many of the expenses of going to a conference. The Canadian Online Homeschool Conference is a uniquely Canadian homeschool resource. You get access to video sessions from Canadian homeschool speakers on a variety of topics. You’ll be able to virtually wander a “Vendor Hall” (without the crowds!!!) and view wholly Canadian homeschool resources. And bonus: you get a goodie bag from many of the speakers and sponsors, full of FREE stuff. (I don’t get that from any physical conference, do you??) Best of all, this conference is free from February 5-11, 2020. Register HERE. (affiliate link- a portion of earnings will go to the Blue Sky Fundraiser, Give a Gift Card.)
I will have 2 sessions available that I hope you'll enjoy.
This Week
We did a lot of learning surrounding Minecraft. Making sets to roleplay in, roleplay, reading aloud a Minecraft novel and making Minecraft Five Nights At Freddy printable toys. It's always an educational goldmine over at Earth Valley Organics where we have lots of fun helping out with the horses. Our dearest Unschool friends came to visit, bringing incredible gluten free pie and other delicious gifts from their kitchen. We had lots of fun exploring the barn, playing games, doing water-play together and more! Thank you friends!!!!! Our region had a powerful storm that grounded us from attending a much anticipated birthday party so we made up for the disappointment with another super bed weekend full of movies, organic chocolate pie (we ate it too fast to take a pic!) and a zillion cuddles.
I find it really builds confidence in Unschooling to write down what we did daily. I designed a journal that you might find as useful as I do! Check it out!
