⛄Radical Unschooling In Canada

As Radical Unschoolers, We Are Free.

Free to learn however we choose. Free to eat whatever we need. Free to create anything we want. Free to go where our heart desires. Free to wear what we're comfortable with. Free to do what we wish with our time. Free to live without the constraints of Rules. Respect for others and our bonded relationships are all we require to navigate socially. Having lived a life of rules, schedules and school mindedness for more than 30 years,and an unfettered, unschooled life for just under 10, has really opened my eyes to how unnecessary society's boxes can be. Life isn't learned in a linear motion despite how many have tried to convince us of such through traditional, elementary education. Fear not. Unschooling in Canada is perfectly legal in most provinces and in some there are no regulations or oversight, like Ontario, where we reside. Unschooling Academically is very popular among home educators, where students chart their own educational course fully, yet in the home, the social structure is dictated by the Parental Unit. Whatever your interest, Academically or Whole Life/Radical Unschooling/Freeschoolin', Unschooling is a wonderful principle for the whole family to foster a life long love of learning. This Week Our Unschool friends visited and we had lots of fun together, reading, pretending, playing outside and more! We romped around in the snow and even went on an adventure to pick out the holiday tree we're going to be getting soon. Hope decided to make some organic spelt brownies with flour from Earth Valley Organics and we got into a fractions discussion that included a whiteboard drawing. We gathered groceries from town and other such errands and spent Sunday playing in the snow with homeschool riends at Earth Valley Organics while there was marigold processing going on. Hope did a lot of drawing, as per usual, and even took her art to the road, drawing in the car during our town runs. There was also tons of Youtube, Minecraft and the Random Goose Game. Books We Read: Santa Duck, Little Bear's Christmas, The Night Before Christmas, The Twelve Days of Christmas, The Gravity Falls Journal and The Hobbit.
