🍬Grinchschooling & Our Unschooled Week
Then the Parent thought of something they hadn't before. ... Maybe Learning, perhaps...means a little bit more! (Than School)
When looking through the lens of school, the idea of learning can get lost. Beneath all the classes, workbooks, tests, repetitive tasks and instruction following, the point of school, education, is buried for so many students. When we strip education down to the bare bones it is just learning. And learning happens every moment we're alive. It comes without tests. It comes without grades It comes without schedules or crafts being made. All people learn to talk, walk and so many other things, long before school is there to show us the way. Learning is just what we do. Welcome Unschooling, bring your cheer. Enlighten all, far and near. True education is in our grasp as long as we have questions to ask. Organic learning will always be, just so long as we are free. This Week
Our family, through The Un/Homeschool Club of Ontario, organized a Homeschool Tag & Jump event to XPlay in Barrie (Ontario, Canada) on their half price day. We did 3 rounds of laser tag and a big jump afterward with mostly the whole place to ourselves. So thankful to all who came out and made it a super fun time. Hope has been asking to go swimming so we hit up a rec centre ( that has a no camera policy so we can't show you anything ) on their $2 days. We had a blast and plan to go again soon. Hope has been reading more so I get to share with you her new favorite book, the Gravity Falls Journal. We found it for 5 bucks in a thrift store and she is LOVING it. We've also been crafting, drawing and decorating for the holidays and Jaze and Hope have been Minecrafting up a storm. Hope even wanted to check out some of the work books we have at the ready for her.
