Remembering In November

Today is Remembrance Day.

As a very sensitive Empath, it is impossible for me to live only one day a year remembering anything.

I live in daily gratitude to everyone who serves another. I can feel the struggle and the strength. It is a sacrifice of love.

Those who fight in any and every way for others deserve honour.

Hope knows about war both past and present. She is also very sensitive so we have not attended any Remembrance Day events nor done a ceremony at home. As a family of energy sensitives, we find these rituals very taxing as we can literally feel the energy of days like this without trying. It can cause a lot of stress so we honour in our own way and hope that it is clear we are in full respect of the traditions on a day like today.

Unschooling empowers us to learn and live the way that works for us individually. It has bestowed endless freedom to our family that we are extremely grateful for. This Week

After the busy of the weeks prior, we were eager to have some down time. 💚 Our favourite Unschooling friends came for a visit which we always look forward to. Hope learned so much from interacting with her younger peers and we all had a great time playing outside and in. These are some of the dearest friends we've ever had the pleasure of knowing and we are so grateful for any time we get to spend with them. 💚

❄ It finally snowed ( it didn't stay, thankfully lol) and Hope was elated to go out and play in it! ❄

🎨 Hope saw a cool video on Youtube (not sure which one or I'd link it) that explained how to paint old toys into new ones so we had fun transforming some of her old pony figurines. We already had the paint ( just dollar store acrylics ) and clear coat ( modge podge ) so we went to town. The trick is to let it dry enough between coats and a few days after to let it all harden so that playtime can commence!

Hope and Daddy did some cut and paste crafting and played chess, we did a purge of Hope's toys ( with Hope's consent on everything ) to make more room in her play space, we played a bunch of games together including a new one our amazing Unschooling friends gave us, learned lots on Animal Jam and even set up a cozy tent area in the living room where Hope made some furniture for her area out of giant lego.

How do I remember all of this to share with ya'll? I don't!

Every day or so I record in our Freeschoolin' Journal, to keep track of what we do and learn. It's easy to reference, travel size and inspiring with different illustrations on over 80 pages. We love this journal and you can get your very own here!
