Un/Homeschool Waterpark Event, Camping, The Beach & More!
What A Busy Week!
Through our Un/Homeschool Club, our family hosted a trip to a waterpark and picnic area about an hour and a half from our home called Cedar Park Resort. Located in Bowmanville, it features 3 different waterslides, a pool, wading and splash areas and a huge waterplayground complete with a giant bucket dumping water over everyone's heads every few minutes. There is a a beautiful picnic area with shelters for large groups to reserve, a really cool playground and a mini golf course. It's also an rv campground for those who wish to stay. We went last year with the intent of taking our Un/Homeschool Club there this year. Other than us arriving almost an hour and a half late (I know, I know, it's no surprise to those who know us.. lol) it went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time! Definitely doing this again next year with the Club!!!
Thank you to all who came out and made this such a fun homeschool family event!!!! See you next year!
This Week There was a lot going on this week. To start, I was blessed tremendously by a group of local homeschool friends. I "ugly cried" when I opened their gift, overcome with the love and generosity of these wonderful people. I have never felt more supported in my life by community and I'm so eternally grateful. Thank you dear friends. You truly have helped make this tragedy easier on me and my family. Love you all so much.
The same day we had our first LARP in the Park session with our Un/Homeschool Club. So much fun! So many new players and familiar faces. Looking forward to more.
We needed some all natural dog food so we hit up PetSmart and visited the animals.
Our dear friends at Earth Valley Organics visited with a sweet gift we are going to share once it's installed and some beautiful organic seedlings to plant in our garden. Everything is doing well so far and we are very grateful. For their generosity, their friendship and all they do for the earth. We highly recommend Earth Valley Organics! (This is just our real opinion, not a paid endorsement.)
The waterpark event was the last of a huge list of events I planned in January for our Un/Homeschool Club. It was so much fun but we needed a rest so this past weekend we retreated to our land to camp out. The weather was incredible with sunny, blue skies and wind to keep the bugs at bay.
Hope wanted to go for a hike so we ventured off into the woods.
We worked up a sweat planting our seedlings from Earth Valley Organics and then hit up the beach when everyone was packing up to go home for the wknd.
I took in the fragrant summer breeze created by hundreds of wild flowers while my dear kitty sat on my lap and our pooch lay at my side. The colours so vibrant and my tears flowing freely for loss and for gratitude.
I'm healing, growing and learning what it's like to live with Skylar on the other side. If you are new to the blog, my son passed away in May from a tragic Fentanyl overdose. I've written about it a few times so far if you're interested. Freeschoolin' A Funeral Freeschoolin' Through Loss

I'm planning to edit and get an episode of The Freeschoolin' Family out this week so stay tuned and check out the over 60 episodes already posted. Thank you to all who have sent love and support. You make this world a better place to live in.
